Traceability is critical because companies must know which products were affected, what correction was performed, and where corrected inventory went after rework. During a recall or correction, poor tracking can create additional risk by allowing affected products to remain in distribution, causing corrected products to be miscounted, or delaying recall closure due to incomplete records.

In product rework services, traceability may involve tracking inventory by lot code, serial number, shipment, retailer, customer, or distribution channel. This is especially important for recall kits, relabeling, repackaging, and product reconfiguration, where companies need documentation showing which units were corrected and how the work was completed.

PPS provides full accountability with ERP-based inventory tracking, lot-code traceability, controlled work instructions, verification steps, and reconciliation reporting throughout the correction process.
