Several types of recall-related work can be outsourced, depending on the nature of the correction and the affected product’s position in the supply chain. For products still in inventory or distribution, companies may outsource inspection, sorting, relabeling, over-labeling, repackaging, insert replacement, barcode correction, component replacement, re-kitting, pallet reconfiguration, or product rework. These services help recover usable inventory that cannot ship in its current condition.

For products already in the field, manufacturers may outsource the assembly of recall and warranty kits. These kits can include replacement parts, corrected labels, tools, instructions, safety notices, return packaging, or other materials needed to complete a correction without requiring a full product return. PPS can also support fulfillment and distribution of recall kits or corrected products to customers, technicians, retailers, service centers, or other designated locations. Throughout the process, inventory tracking, lot or serial control, quality checks, and reporting help document what was corrected, where it went, and how the program progressed. Learn more.
