Open Position - Industrial Sewer ($15/hour)

Brief Description: Operates electric powered sewing machine to produce a variety of items such as straps, boots, aprons, and bags in accordance with customer specifications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Sets up sewing machine and selects threads.

· Discusses daily work requirements with the supervisor or lead person.

· Ensures that tasks are completed according to customer specifications.

· Alters the machine settings to suit the type of material.

· Uses marking pencil to track the area that must be sewn or cut.

· Follows appropriate instructions per job, positions the material together, and guides it through the machine.

· Inspects material and finished products to ensure that they meet customer specifications.

· Keeps samples of finished products to reference at a later date..

· Performs general preventative maintenance on sewing equipment.

· Helps put kits together or assists on the packing line when needed

· Creates prototypes and samples of material when asked to.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Strength/Physical Demands:

· Must have steady hands and good eyesight (with or without glasses).

· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

· Regularly required to sit for long periods of time while tasks are being performed.

 

Work Conditions:

· Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.

· Worker has moderate supervision at all times.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Experience using industrial sewing equipment and methods, needle sizes, fabrics, and machine-threading techniques.

· Must have good sewing skills and an eye for detail.

· Skill to perform tasks neatly, accurately and carefully.

· Skill to work in a team oriented environment.

· Ability to handle pressure of deadlines and stay patient while tasks are being performed.

· Ability to perform tasks of a repetitive nature.

· Ability to follow instructions and remain focused.

· Ability to use a ruler to measure material before sewing.

· Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.

 

Education/Experience:

· No specific educational requirements.

· 1 year experience with sewing operations in a production facility.

Open Position - Job Coach/Trainer ($18-20/hour)

Brief Description: A Job Coach is responsible for instructing employees to assist them in learning job responsibilities and ensure they have the skills to succeed in their current role.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Instruct employees on the step by step procedures required to complete a work instruction

· Document employee performance through trainer trackers, notes and evaluation forms

· Teach employees how to appropriately complete the tasks they are assigned

· Ensure that work is performed according to the job specifications

· Advocate for all employees

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides one-on-one behavioral coaching and teaching

· Works closely with other team members to identify the specific skills the employee needs to work on

· Works collaboratively with team members to provide skill development through instruction, practice and coaching.

· Amends approach based on employee’s needs and progress

· Focusing on specific behaviors and skills the employee will needs to succeed in the work environment

· Help develop line leader training on working with individuals with disabilities

· Participates in meetings with community support and employee family’s as needed

· Participates in discussions regarding processes, support, and service planning

· Develop effective job coaching and employment plans

· Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively

· Advise on workplace accommodations for people with disabilities

· Communicate with employees to understand their goals and ambitions

· Attend job fairs and other recruiting outings as needed

· Work on the production floor if needed

· Other duties as assigned

 

Strength/Physical Demands:

· Regularly required to bend, stoop, or reach with hands and arms.

· Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds with the occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, with infrequent lifting or carrying of small tools or objects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Proven experience as job coach

· Experience in working with people with disabilities and developing employment plans

· Ability to adhere to regulations and standards

Education/Experience:

· High school diploma; BSc/BA in social studies or relevant field is a plu

Open Position - Shipping Coordinator ($17.50/hour)

Brief Description: Posts shipping information to the computer system, prepares shipping documents and mailing labels, and maintains records of all outgoing shipments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prints sales orders and packing lists and types bill of ladings.

· Verifies that shipment information is correct.

· Prints labels for UPS shipments.

· Prepares and sends out UPS shipments.

· Maintains EWM or SAP dock screen for loaded/unloaded trailers.

· Answers telephone and provides information/assistance to the caller.

· Assigns invoice numbers to shipping documents.

· Produces load sheets for designated trailers.

· Establishes and maintains permanent files.

· Inputs data into computer system.

· Ships orders according to customer specifications.

· Regularly monitors incoming emails.

· Calls in extra trailers when needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Knowledge of an RF Gun.

· Regularly monitor EWM systems outbound reports to ensure product/units are on schedule to our customers.

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Writes up paperwork for shipment of misdirected material.

· Prepares international shipping orders.

· Completes month end invoicing.

 

Strength Demands:

· Light to medium lifting of UPS packages.

 

Work Conditions:

· Willing to work 40 hours per week.

· Stand or walk for most of the work day.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.

· Knowledge of basic mathematical functions and basic calculator functions.

· Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Sage software and CAT software

· Skill to type 40 words per minute and 10,000 alpha numeric keystrokes.

· Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

· Ability to establish priorities, work independently, organize and proceed with objectives without supervision.

· Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.

· Ability to pay attention to detail, and to write legibly.

· Ability to use basic office equipment including printer, fax machine, and copy machine.

 

Education/Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED

· 1-year experience in shipping/receiving operations or data entry.

· Familiarization with shipping documentation preferred.

· Familiarization with the Electronic UPS System preferred.

Open Position - Maintenance ($20-22/hour)

Brief Description: Responsible for maintaining the machinery and making sure the equipment is safe for employees to operate.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintain production equipment and machinery.

· Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on equipment in production.

· Assure that the equipment is working properly and safe to use.

· Keep accurate and updated records of maintenance in compliance with ISO.

· Dismantle and analyze defects.

· Troubleshoot machinery issues.

· Determine and make necessary repairs on simple and complex machines.

· Receives coolant, ensures everything is hooked up correctly, dips the tanks, and takes measurements.

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Build and repair work tables, benches, etc.

· Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized.

· Make pick-ups and deliveries when needed.

· Prioritize and organize the completion of multiple tasks.

 

Strength/Physical Demands:

· Lift a maximum of 75 pounds.

· Stand on your feet for 8 hours or more.

· Be able to work on a high lift and ladders.

 

Work Conditions:

· Fast-paced work environment.

· Willing to work 40 hours per week.

· Work with limited supervision and follow detailed instructions.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Mechanical abilities.

· Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electronics, electrical, welding, painting, writing and communication.

· Must be able to drive and have a valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to read blue prints and follow owner manuals for equipment.

 

Education/Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED

· Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience required

· 5 years’ experience as a maintenance worker
